Inbound Marketing Internship Banbury Oxfordshire

Toast Inbound are always looking for graduates or those starting out in marketing to join our internship programme.  You will work for up to 6 months as a paid intern with the possibility of a full time job at the end. 

The outline details of an inbound marketing internship are listed below. Toast Inbound are based in the centre of Banbury just a few minutes walk from the Rail and Bus Stations.

Hours/Remuneration: Full Time (Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:30) / £1100 per month

Location: 16, North Bar, Banbury, OX16 0TF.

Outline of Role:

An Inbound Marketing Executive manages client’s inbound marketing programmes and creates new content for client’s websites.

The role’s typical responsibilities can be divided into six different areas, which are listed below. Your personal responsibilities will consist of a subset of these, dependent on the needs of the company at the time of your employment.

Additional duties may also be added depending on the needs of individual clients.


On a weekly basis you will provide clients with analytical data on:

  • Traffic coming to their websites
  • Which pages of their websites are creating the most traffic
  • Their current search engine keyword rankings
  • Which of their content is generating the highest levels of engagement.

Client Communication

Following an initial content strategy meeting, you will be in daily communication with our clients:

  • Updating them on the progress of their campaign and the content we’re creating for them.
  • Updating them on the progress of ‘premium’ content projects.
  • Assisting with content creation they may require help with.
  • Feeding back on completed tasks.

Inbound Strategy and Management

Working under the account manager, you will use an intimate, working knowledge of the client and their campaign to assist in devising a quarter–by-quarter content strategy. This involves:

  • Daily, weekly and monthly task management
  • Delegation of responsibilities
  • Content calendar creation and maintenance
  • Providing and receiving feedback on content
  • Meeting preparation and hosting
  • Deciding on and implementing search engine optimization (SEO) actions
  • Targeted keyword research and monitoring
  • Client competitor research and monitoring
  • Division (and implementation) of Google Ad Campaigns

Updating Web Content

Once a client’s strategies are in place, our inbound marketing executives are key in making sure they are delivered. This means:

  • Optimising content according to inbound marketing campaign plans
  • Creating content for marketing automation
  • Building website landing pages
  • Setting up workflows in marketing automation platforms
  • Posting and optimising blog articles
  • Adding new offers to websites.
  • Updating lead scoring

Copywriting & Editing

A significant portion of the role involves writing, copywriting and editing content for client’s websites. Impeccable research skills and an eye for grammatical detail are essential here.

  • Writing blog posts
  • Editing blog posts
  • Writing copy for large, multi-page downloads
  • Writing workflow emails
  • Writing landing pages

Social Media Management

Inbound marketing executives spend time populating and monitoring social media accounts. Typically, this involves:

  • Creating new social media accounts and optimising existing ones
  • Scheduling posts
  • Using paid-for ads to boost campaigns
  • Moderating posts on company pages
  • Setting up publishing automation to social media channels through WordPress

The ideal candidate will have experience in all of these areas, or should be able to evidence transferable skills that will enable them to perform in the role.

They should be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite, and ideally, some creative media software.

They will also be expected to complete a series of online learning modules to support their development as an inbound marketer.

A willingness to learn new skills is crucial to the role.
